Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah from the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred." Surah At-Tawbah: 9:36)

The last word of the month comes from the Arabic root “Rajaba,” which is used to signify “to respect” or honor”. Therefore, it shows that this month is sanctified by Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.

1. 27th of Rajab – Isra and Miraj  

This is the night of Isra and Miraj when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had his miraculous Night Journey (Isra) and Ascension (Miraj). On this very night, Allah gave the five important daily prayers to the Muslims.

He who spends one day of Rajab fasting Allah will remove him from the Hellfire through a distance of a year’s travel. (Al-Bayhaqi)

2. Supplication and Dua for Rajab month 

Muslims have set of supplications during the holy month of Rajab. Among them, here is the Rajab month dua:  

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي رَجَبَ وَشَعْبَانَ وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ.        

O Allah, bless us in Rajab and Sha’ban and help us reach Ramadan. (Musnad Ahmad)
